Fall is the time for color. Vermonters would be jealous, an abundance of lakes, streams, and rivers dominated by the mountains accent the changing foliage. Whether by car, bike, or canoe a visitor will be inspired by the scenery.
Winter in St. Lawrence County offers activities other areas are hard pressed to match. Braeside is adjacent to main snowmobile corridors, cross country ski trails, and snowshoeing areas.
Stone Valley Trail If nothing else visitors to the area should visit the awe inspiring section of the Raquette River called Stone Valley.
Views of St. Lawrence County's mini-canyon, with spectacular rapids, waterfalls, and a gorge will delight any hiker along this section of the Raquette River. Located between Browns Bridge and South Colton, the river cuts through rock formations offering inspiring views, swimming holes, ruins of long forgotten industries, and a diversity of wildflowers.
